Setting up the Harman Kardon Invoke couldn’t be easier! Here’s how:
First, plug in your Invoke and wait for it to boot up. You’ll know it’s ready when Cortana tells you so.
When prompted by Cortana, open the Cortana app or use your Windows 10 PC (there’s an icon in the Cortana pop up menu). The app will ask you to make sure the lights on top of the Invoke match the lights on the screen. If they do, click Next.
You will have to agree to the terms of service, and allow Cortana to access your contacts so you can make calls through your Invoke.
Next, the app will ask for your location. When you have confirmed your location is correct, click Next and the setup will look for your Invoke.
Select your Invoke from the list. You will then have to wait until the lights on your Invoke match the flashing ring of light on the screen. This could take a while. When the setup is finished, Cortana will tell you that she is connected to your device.
You will then be prompted to select your wifi and enter the password. Hit Next to connect your Invoke. Cortana will tell you when this part is complete.
The Invoke will then check for updates automatically. You will see the lights spinning on the top of the unit for a while. It may reboot if it finds an update.
In the meantime, you can select your default music service. Currently the choices are iHeartRadio, Spotify or TuneIn. Spotify requires a premium account, while iHeartRadio and TuneIn are free.
The app will then tell you to wait until the lights stop flashing and you hear a chime letting you know your Invoke is up to date. In the meantime you can try some commands and skills.
Once setup is complete, you’re ready to start interacting with Cortana and your new Harman Kardon Invoke!
